You have only one heart. The first person you give it to, that matters. Because for many of us, the first person will not be the last person. Only few are lucky enough for their first, to be the last. Only few are lucky to be that first person. It matters. Because each time you give your heart to someone, you're letting them take up a part of it. And when you get it back, a little part of it is taken up by the last person, and hard as you may try, it will never go away. You will at some point or another, have a thought of them, even if it's just a short random thought, it's still a thought. The part of you they have taken up may shrink, but it's there. And in more ways than one, it will affect you. It may change you.
The saddest thing is to think that your heart may never completely and only belong the the last person you choose to love and spend your life with. You can never love that person with your whole heart, because other parts of your heart have been occupied.

But it's always a good feeling, to know that despite some parts of your heart being taken up, you can still love with the rest of your heart, simply because love is infinite.
