Amanda, Joanna and Davinia's Rules to Protect Any Kind of Heart.

So it's pretty simple, like every other girl out there in the world, the three of us have been through our fair share of shitty relationships, or flings that went bad, or good relationships that ended badly. To me, that's probably because being girls, we tend to be a little bit more vulnerable and easily taken advantage of. It's not the guys that manipulate us to feel that way, hardly. I really think it's just that we are more vulnerable to our feelings, especially because girls are known to be a bit more in touch with our feelings compared to guys. 

But the end result, usually seems to be us being hurt, leaving ourselves, family and our best girlfriends to pick up the pieces. The only positive thing, about this is probably that with every ended relationship or fling, we take away something important. And that's what's brought us to realise so many mistakes we made. These new rules, are simply our way to remember to protect ourselves. Most of the credit goes to Amanda for coming up with majority of these rules and the explanations. Oh, and Davi was the inspiration for this :)

The Rules of Protection!

1.       1.       Thou shall not kiss a boy that is NOT a boyfriend.

2.       Thou shall have no hanky-panky business with a boy that is NOT a boyfriend.
- If he’s never asked you out, He’s Just Not That Into You.

3.       Thou shall have no hanky-panky business with a boyfriend until AFTER the 7 month itch.

4.       Thou shall have no such thing as a “boy-toy”
- We don’t like being played with; therefore, we don’t play!

5.       Thou shall stay away from cheaters!
- If he cheated once, he will cheat again. Stay away. He hasn’t changed.

6.       A worthy guy may not necessarily be The One. Don’t force a relationship on yourself if it doesn’t feel right.

7.       Thou shall NOT turn a blind eye from ONE mistake!
- A tiny mistake maybe lead to something big if you ignore it so be aware of what the mistake was.

8.       Thou shall not conform to so-called “social norms” of what a girlfriend should be.
- If he wants to love you, he should love you for exactly who you are.
- It’s take it or leave it baby!

9.       Thou shall NOT put up with abuse of any kind!
- Mental torture is the same as physical torture, if so happens upon such a sad excuse of a man, run away fast!

10.   Thou shall not always think with your heart.
- Love is blind, mute, deaf and dumb. Follow your heart entirely and thou art at risk of not being able to SEE the stop signs, CRY for help, HEAR the dangers or REACT when necessary.
- Caution MUST be taken!

11.   Thou shall not wait for the “perfect guy”, Jesus died on the cross for us a long time ago.
- Everybody is flawed. It’s not about finding someone perfect, it’s about finding someone perfectly fitted for you.
- Expect the flaws. When you’re perfectly fitted, you’re flaws will complement each other.

12.   Thou shall walk away if it doesn’t feel right.
- No point in trying for a guy if you’re not even comfortable while you’re just building your friendship.

13.   Thou shall not just go with the flow. If it ever feels wrong, fight the current.
- Remember that you can drown if pushed in the wrong direction.

14.   Thou shall not rush into a relationship.
- Remember if love is true now, it’s true forever.

15.   Thou shall use no such excuses as “my biological close is ticking”. Take your time to get to know the man!
- Your life partner is supposed to be your best friend. If he can’t be your friend for long, how is he supposed to be your boyfriend or LIFE partner?

16.   Thou shall not accept asshole excuses as “I will not justify that with an answer” when confronting your man. Get the answer!

17.   Thou shall not ever, EVER un-friend a friend because your boyfriend doesn’t like him/her!
- He has to learn to respect your choice of company.

18.   Thou shall not allow a man to put you down! If so happens, hold firm to your grown and walk away gracefully.
- He may be too blind to not appreciate you but someone else definitely will.
- Remember that if he calls you a bitch, he will never be able to defend you from another who does so too for then he will only be a hypocrite. You don’t want a hypocrite of a man.

19.   Thou shall NOT say “I Love You” until after the 7 month itch and thou shall NOT say “I Love you” if you have not met in person and most importantly, thou shall NOT say “I Love You” unless it is true and truly felt in your heart and it lingers in your very soul that your bones ache and the world isn’t right when you are apart!

20.   And last but not least, Thou shall ALWAYS protect your heart with strong walls and high fences!
- The heart is a precious thing and easily broken!
- Protection is the only means of preservation!
